5/4/23 - Garage Doors

It took a long time to get to this point. When we started here we lived in a camp trailer that we had to park in the garage opening. Getting the new roof, finishing enough work inside to move into the house and all the other things we have done have, in part, been leading to this point. Actually getting a new garage door is the culmination of so many smaller projects. Cutting off and framing the outside eave, pouring a cement pad, and building the final section of the wall so the garage door can be mounted, have been the last projects needed to get to this point. Finally, we have the space prepared. Garage Door Sales in Lincoln City came and installed a new garage door in the larger space (9’x9’) and they were able to repair the existing door and opener we had in the smaller space (7’x9’), saving us some money. And, it is not an exaggeration to say, this changes our lives here.

And we are able to have some fun along the way and see the joy in this place.

Standing on the driveway, talking on the phone, I look at the hillside we, and the goats, have been working on, and can’t help but see a crashing wave.

It takes some imagination, but there it is.

So I did the most natural thing… I grabbed a board.

But, not to be outdone!

Pan the goat had to get in on the action!

And, he had to throw down some sick tricks!

What a show off!

And for all of us, the work continues.
