11/23/22 - More Wall Building

One of the largest, and seemingly endless, projects here is building a retaining wall that will widen the driveway and keep the hill from schluffing down more. That wall will eventually continue on behind the house as we dig out and cut back the hillside. The work by the driveway could probably be helped with equipment but the driveway is steep and it would need to be big equipment. But the work behind the house will all need to be “hand work,” digging and laying block by hand. I am just making do with what I have, a shovel, a wheel barrel, a tamper and a level. Getting the pallets delivered a couple at a time, I just keep plugging away at it as I am able and weather allowing. Here is something a little different, a time lapse (of sorts) of me using up the last pallet.

The wall will need to be a bit taller all along, but this is the base that will stop the erosion and define the driveway.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the house while I am not paying attention.
