1/12/23 - South Room & Wildlife
It has been a few weeks since we have posted an update. We have been making progress and working on stuff, but have been taking a break from some things… like blogging. So, this update will be a bit more than normal. As I said, we are still making progress but some days it feels like it is very slow. It is also winter on the Oregon coast, so it is rains every day. Not all day every day, so we can get the goats out each day, but they do not like the rain and don’t eat much when it is raining, so they are out till it rains and then want back in their pen… NOW! Here are some of the things we have been working.
First, the “Christmas Storm” brought us buckets of rain (as you can see in the previous post) and it blew right through the goat house. I had cobbled the goat pen together with refuse materials from the demo on the house, and it just didn’t hold up. I have a plan for a more permanent and secure house for them, but have had to make other arrangements in the short term.
We have also been making progress upstairs. The South facing room has new drywall, the ceiling has been patched and the whole room has a fresh coat of paint. Finally, I also installed new flooring.
While working in the South room, it was hard not to be distracted by the view out the window.
Like I said, we get the goats out when we can. (don’t worry, they got off the road safe.)
